Barloworld Equipment has been in operation for over 100 years, as a leading supplier of earthmoving solutions across southern Africa. We deliver the highest quality equipment from the world-renowned brand – Caterpillar, along with aftermarket solutions and support. We service industries including mining, construction, agriculture, industrial and marine, with solutions including machines, power systems, and engines.
As a company backed by JSE-listed Barloworld Limited, we've expanded over the years to supply earthmoving machines and related mining and construction equipment in Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Eswatini, and Zambia, as well as the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Katanga province in a joint venture with Bartrac.
Barloworld Equipment also has affiliate brands - Barloworld Power, which has been in existence since 1927 - supplying quality Cat® power systems, Diesel & Gas Generators, Industrial, Marine & Diesel Engines, allied Cat® Components, and Pumps; Barloworld Power Perkins® - the southern African dealer for world-class Perkins® engines and generators, and SEM – a Caterpillar brand of high quality, affordable equipment.

We’ve made steady progress on all elements of the Department of Trade and Industry’s BBBEE scorecard, with the emphasis on long-term sustainability.
Barloworld Limited announced its broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) transaction in 2008. The transaction included shareholdings for employees, community service groups, an eduCation trust and strategic black partners. This translated into an effective 29% empowerment of Barloworld’s South African operations.
The allocation of shares to South African employees has the important spin-off of improved staff retention and loyalty, with corresponding benefits for customers.
